Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment today announced that it will launch director James Cameron's history-making motion picture Avatar on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on Thursday, April 22.

Death Race 2 Starts Principal Photography
Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced today that Death Race 2 began principal photography on February 13, 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa. The prequel to Paul W.S. Anderson's audacious re-imagining of the Roger Corman cult classic stars Luke Goss ( Hellboy II: The Golden Army ), Ving Rhames ( Con Air , Pulp Fiction ), Sean Bean ( National Treasure , "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy), Danny Trejo ( Planet Terror , "Burn Notice"), Frederick Koehler ("Oz," "Touching Evil") and Lauren Cohan ("Supernatural") and promises even more outrageously outfitted muscle cars and death-defying stunts in a deadly driving competition.

Update: Cameron Talks Avatar Blu-ray/DVD Releases and Sequel
James Cameron told The Wall Street Journal today that Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release the Blu-ray and "standard def" DVD for Avatar on Thursday, April 22, which is Earth Day.

The Hangover Now the #1 Comedy of All-Time on DVD
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' smash hit The Hangover has added another milestone to its record-breaking 2009 run. Since its release on Blu-ray and DVD on December 15th 2009, the film has become the #1 comedy of all time on the DVD charts with combined consumer and rental sales topping 8.6 million units with 1.5 million units coming from Blu-ray purchases. Strong sales are expected to continue bringing the six-month estimate to 9.5 million units.
