 James Bond Prepares To "Die Another Day" In Style

007's Latest Hi-tech Vehicle is One of the Most Expensive Cars in the World

November 2002 (Newstream) -- James Bond prepares to hit the big screen this month in "Die Another Day" and he will be sure to arrive in style. The suave secret agent and his crew have done some tinkering with a very upscale Aston Martin Vanquish - one of the most expensive and prestigious cars in the world. Who else would even think about accessorizing a $225,000 car? Only 007, of course!

MGM movie crews had to significantly modify the car, removing the powerful V12 engine, and replacing it with a V8. They also had to convert it into four-wheel drive for a special chase scene filmed on ice. In the movie, the car can be seen as a rolling arsenal with rocket launchers and machine guns.

Other Ford cars featured in the movie include a Jaguar XKR, also converted into four-wheel drive and driven by a Bond villain, and a coral-colored 007 Thunderbird for the movie's new Bond girl, Halle Berry. Ford is actually selling the Thunderbird car in a limited edition. Only 700 will be produced and each will be serialized in the glovebox. And as for the Aston Martin? It's sold out for two years.

"Die Another Day" opens in theaters nationwide on November 22nd.
