JACKSONVILLE

February 2005 (Newstream) -- Jacksonville doesn't even rank in the top 50 largest cities in the United States - in fact, it's only the fourth biggest city in Florida. Yet Jacksonville is hosting the Super Bowl this Sunday. So how is the little city hosting such a big event?

With only 1,800 permanent hotel rooms and more than 100,000 expected visitors, Jacksonville has had to get creative to meet the needs of its Super Bowl guests. Jacksonville has organized cruise ships to augment the hotel supply.

And besides the multi-million dollar television advertising during the game, corporate sponsors are also pitching in with football fans at the Super Bowl. Anheuser-Busch has brought their Clydesdales, Campbell's is passing out soup samples and Cadillac is supplying hundreds of Escalades and SRXs to usher folks around the city.
