 TBS Superstation's MOVIE & A MAKEOVER Begins its February Schedule with THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT and an Ultimate Date Night for Couples

January 2003 (Newstream) -- TBS Superstation brings it all together with its newest hosted movie showcase, MOVIE & A MAKEOVER, set to premiere with THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT (1995) on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. (ET)/8 a.m. (PT).

MOVIE & A MAKEOVER is hosted by Mia Butler (BET's NY/LA) and features hot movies paired with innovative and fun makeovers.

THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT, starring Annette Bening and Michael Douglas, tells the story of a widowed United States President who falls in love with a female lobbyist. During the movie, Butler will present a Hot Date Makeover, in which experts transform a contractor from his jeans and t-shirts into a handsome outfit, and give a female recipient a dazzling date look. The final results rival the White House glamour of Bening and Douglas in the romantic comedy.

In February, MOVIE & A MAKEOVER will highlight a variety of different makeovers, from stunning fashion and beauty looks to dramatic home projects. Designers, stylists, make-up artists, landscapers, professional organizers and other experts will offer fun, innovative and helpful tips. THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT (1995)--with Michael Douglas, Annette Bening and Martin Sheen. This comedy-drama about a widowed U.S. president falling in love with a lobbyist was written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) and directed by Rob Reiner (A Few Good Men).

Makeover: Hot Date Makeover - Experts give a man and a woman new looks from head-to-toe.

Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. (ET)/8 a.m. (PT)

FORGET PARIS (1995)--with Billy Crystal and Debra Winger. A basketball referee travels to France to bury his father and falls in love with an American working in Paris.

Makeover: Ultimate Date Night for Couples - Experts create a romantic French dinner for two and offer tips on how to dress up a dining room for a special occasion.

Sunday, Feb. 16 at 9:30 a.m. (ET)/6:30 a.m. (PT)

THE OTHER SISTER (1999)--with Juliette Lewis, Giovani Ribisi and Diane Keaton. A mentally challenged girl proves herself to be every bit as capable as her "perfect" sister when she moves into an apartment and begins attending college.

Makeover: Sisters Makeover - Sisters treat each other to beauty makeovers and swap styles for their new looks.

Saturday, February 22 at 11 a.m. (ET)/8 a.m. (PT)

ATOMIC TWISTER (2002)--with Sharon Lawrence and Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Corbin Bernsen. This gripping drama tells the horrifying tale of a storm of mega-twisters that hit a small Southern town, threatening to cause a meltdown at a local nuclear power-plant.

Makeover: Organizing a Disaster Area - Experts help organize a couple's disaster area of a garage full of boxes, sports equipment, pool supplies and yard furniture.

DISCLOSURE (1994)--with Michael Douglas, Demi Moore and Donald Sutherland. Sexual harassment is the theme, but here it is the man who is harassed by his new female boss. A high-flying executive is out to ruin her former lover, who she's just beaten to the top job in an electronics company, using every trick in the book.

Makeover: Professional Sass - Experts help a young sexual harassment lawyer look more polished and professional.

Butler comes to MOVIE & A MAKEOVER with a long list of both regional and national credits, including hosting BET's NY/LA and SummerFest '98, as well as many other BET programs and specials. She served as anchor and reporter for WHLT-22 Daily News in Hattiesburg, Miss., and co-hosted Atlanta-based WUPN-69's Powerfilled Thinking project. Also in Atlanta, she served as floor director for the AUC Sports Show on cable access.
