TBS SUPERSATATION
Superstation's New Year's Comedy Cure Addresses AHDHD -Acute and Horrible Disease of Humor Deficiency- December 2002 (Newstream) -- TBS Superstation is kicking off the New Year with a telethon to raise awareness for a horrible condition that afflicts millions of Americans, including several notable politicians and personalities: Acute and Horrible Disease of Humor Deficiency (AHDHD). The Comedy Cure, hosted by noted comic actor Fred Willard (Best in Show), begins Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT) and runs throughout New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. In addition to raising awareness for AHDHD, TBS Superstation's Comedy Cure will feature some of the funniest movies ever made, as well as the world's first ever humor transplant, in which the cells from a stand-up comedian are injected into a sufferer of AHDHD. The telethon will also feature profiles of the victims of humorlessness, as well as discussions about the causes, symptoms and possible treatments for the humor-impaired. "AHDHD is a truly horrible affliction affecting the lives of millions of Americans," said Dr. Ivana DeWitt, the world's foremost authority on AHDHD. "We hope that by showing two full days of comedy movies, we can help families identify those who are humor-deficient. If your loved ones watch these movies and don't laugh or even chuckle, then they may be suffering from AHDHD. If so, watch for information during the Comedy Cure on where to send them for help." The following is the schedule for the movies airing during the Comedy Cure:
