VEGAS.com Lets You Bring Your Pet To Vegas In Style

March 2003 (Newstream) -- They still won't let your best friend swim in the fountain in front of Bellagio. And the management might frown at her digging up the beach at the Hard Rock. But that doesn't mean you can't share your Vegas vacation with your schnauzer, or party with your Pomeranian. A new partnership between VEGAS.com and America Dog and Cat Hotel now allows for Internet bookings for pet suites - yes, we said suites - so you don't have to leave Fido or Bootsy at home. VEGAS.com is the only place online to find and book the America Dog and Cat Hotel.

"At VEGAS.com, pets can be treated like the high-rollers, with their every need tended to, while their 'parents' enjoy a worry-free vacation and ability to visit and play with their pet," said Howard Lefkowitz, President of VEGAS.com "Now your pet can party at its own Vegas resort while you party at yours."

Benefiting animals, VEGAS.com will donate the proceeds from its bookings of this special pet hotel to The Animal Foundation, a non-profit organization that operates the Lied Animal Shelter for the city of Vegas.

"We originally conceptualized a pet hotel for locals who would rather have their pets pampered and loved in lieu of a kennel experience when they leave town," said Christopher Easley, hotel manager for the America Dog and Cat Hotel. "VEGAS.com has opened up a lucrative and untapped market for pet tourism to Vegas through our agreement and the reach of their city travel site," he continued.

According to the Travel Industry Association, 78 percent of people with pets would take them on vacation if they could. And why not? Lefkowitz agreed, "Pets are part of the family and can now be part of your Vegas vacation experience exclusively through VEGAS.com online. We are confident this agreement will bring a new group of tourists to our city... some with four legs," Lefkowitz continued.

Booking luxurious pet hotel suites is easy through VEGAS.com. Travelers can visit the website's hotels page where they can easily book a room at any of the city's resorts, and then they can place an online reservation for their pet. The exclusive arrangement with America Dog and Cat Hotel in Las Vegas means that your pampered pet will agree that VEGAS is the #1 leisure travel destination in the country, with swanky suites for your Siamese to Persian carpets for your Persian cat.

Pets can either be dropped off at the hotel, which is located minutes from the Strip, or they can be picked up by the American Dog and Cat Hotel's staff at your resort or at the airport. The 7,500-square-foot facility offers private pet suites with color television, a free range area for daycare, overnight stays and play, an enclosed private yard, super-soft beds and plenty of loving care. The free-range area is like a pet romping room equipped with toys, soothing jazz music and doggie videos like "101 Dalmatians" and "Lassie". The trained staff keeps an eye on the animals and leads them in regular play sessions.
