 Windwalker by Acclaimed Fantasy Fiction Author Elaine Cunningham Releases April 21, Completing Starlight & Shadows Trilogy

April 2003 (Newstream) -- Windwalker, the highly anticipated new title from New York Times best-selling author Elaine Cunningham, releases the week of April 21. Published by Wizards of the Coast, Inc., Windwalker draws to a close the popular Starlight & Shadows trilogy that chronicles the adventures of drow princess Liriel Baenre. Cunningham created the fantasy fiction series more than a decade ago, and Windwalker marks the author's first hardcover in five years. Coinciding with the release of Windwalker, Cunningham will appear at several New England bookstores in April and May.

Following the re-covers of Daughter of the Drow and Tangled Webs, the series' first two titles, Windwalker follows drow princess Liriel Baenre and her traveling companion, Fyodor the barbarian, across the vast continent of Faerűn as Liriel and Fyodor attempt to return the treasured Windwalker amulet to Fydor's homeland of Rashemen.

The Windwalker story is set in the Forgotten Realms® world, the most popular backdrop for the Dungeons & Dragons® roleplaying game. Throughout the novel, Liriel and Fyodor encounter mortal duels with enemy drow, who continuously scheme to intercept the travelers and prevent them from reaching their destination. By the end of the book, Cunningham's readers will finally discover if Liriel will be granted her wish - to renounce her drow heritage and run free as a huntress beneath the moon!
